My left nipple has a tendacy to be more sensitive and get hard over the right and be more prominent? could it be a hormonal thing linked to my period? or a legitimate panic thing? my paranoia over my nipples is a very on off thing.

Sometimes, a person's nipples get hard or soft on their own, without much reason. Hormones do play a role, which means nipple symptoms can vary during the menstrual cycle, because hormone levels vary.
