Can augmentin decrease the effectiveness of birth control? can it cause you to spot on the pill due to this? im new to the pill so the spotting may be related to that. i was wondering on augmentin and birth control interaction since had label on it.

About antibiotics...: Many things are possible in life. That said, birth control pill hormones should still be effective. Amoxicillin, Augmentin, and other commonly-used antibiotics do not have a noticeable effect on the workings of hormonal contraceptives such as Implanon or birth control pills. Antibiotic Rifampin is not commonly used, but may have an effect on hormonal contraceptives.
