1-2 wks after sex: You should wait to take a pregnancy test until the week after your period was missed for the most accurate result. If you don't want to wait until your period has been missed, you should wait at least one to two weeks after you have had sex. Your body needs time to develop detectable levels of HCG if you are pregnant. I wish you well with your health!

3 weeks after sex: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, or medications. A urine pregnancy test gives a very reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon.
