Some basics: The pill is usually either active (with hormone) or not (dummy pills). The date on a dosing card matters less than making sure you take the active pills every day until you reach the days with dummy pills. The active pills prevent egg release.No egg= no pregnancy. If you miss pills you may be at risk of pregnancy so use condoms as a backup.
