Low Glycemic Index: HealthTap requests it's doctors not endorse specific products. If you have a shake- look for one with a low glycemic index as well as a good amount of protein. Protein and fat are slower to break down than junk carbohydrates. Sugar alcohol may be used instead of just sugar. Fiber can also be beneficial. You want to avoid spikes in your blood sugar.
