I heard a topic about herpes on the radio this morning & heard that it can stay dormant for years without being discovered. that got me worried, i would like to test for all std's. i just don't know which ones are common and how to go about it. ?

Some basics: The Herpes family of viruses are well known for an ability to go dormant after their 1st infection. The H simplex virus known as a STD is not something you would have without knowing. The 1st infection is dramatic. Episodic recurrences are less so but noticeable.This & other stealth STD's can be tested via blood or urine. Discuss your need with your primary doc who can arrange testing.
