It could happen: Endocarditis mostly refers to bacterial and fungal infections of heart valves that get there because the pathogen got into the bloodstream which is normally sterile. Both the path it takes to get into the blood and places other than the heart that the now blood borne infectious agent can seed (infect) could be anywhere, Injection drug use & dental procedures are most common source of the infection

Wouldn't think so: If the germ involved in the endocarditis traveled in the blood to the ankle & caused an infection it would be related. However, this is rarely seen.
