Possibly: Dehydration is an issue of balance. When you take in fluids at a rate equal to or faster than it is lost by metabolism, urine and stool, you remain hydrated. Some forms of illness, like cholera, generate such rapid fluid losses dehydration causes death, unless patients receive intravenous fluids. Dehydration is unlikely in food poisoning if the person is alert enough to take in extra fluids.
