Labor pains ?: At 36 weeks, the fetus has "dropped" into the lower pelvis, and can cause dilation of the uppper third of the cervical canal, which causes pain. See your OB physician for an exam, as your "due date" is not always calculated correctly, and early labor is always a possibility.
