Genital herpes: This sounds like genital herpes. If it's the first time, you need valacyclovir or acyclovir by mouth; creams, ointments, and OTC treatments don't work. Without treatment, the problem will last 2-3 wk and may get worse. Herpes due to HSV2 raises risk of HIV if exposed, so be careful. You also need exam and treatment for other STIs (gonhorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, HIV). See a doctor or clinic ASAP.
