A member asked:

How are food poisoning symptoms and flu symptoms different?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

GI vs respiratory: Flu symptoms are usually due to damage to the upper airways and lungs, like, runny nose, fever, aches, cough, difficulty breathing. Food poisoning usually causes stomach ache, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. See this for flu symptoms. Food poisoning is much more variable. http://www.webmd.com/cold-and-flu/flu-guide/flu-symptoms-types.
