Extended period ?: A brown discharge is oxidized blood, and persistent bleeding may indicate a pregnancy outside the womb(ectopic), so obtain a serum HCG test to be certain, and if positive, see your gyn immediately. There are other causes for prolonged bleeding after a period (uterine polyps, fibroid tumors, etc.) , so if this continues, see your gyn for a pelvic ultrasound.
