Vag Discharge: Brown discharge in the first trimester can occur without an impending complication or miscarriage. It is a very non-specific complaint. Ideally you will establish care with an Obstetrician and get an ultrasound to insure the pregnancy is viable and in the uterus. From there you would be concerned about cramping and overt bleeding because those symptoms would be more worrisome for miscarriage.
