A member asked:

My mum has a uti and her crp is 60. she is feeling pain in back and is feeling sick. she has been prescribed co-amoxiclav. when will she feel better?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can recheck: A urine infection that has flank pain, back pain, or fever usually means infection is in the kidney(s). Oral antibiotics (Cipro, Levaquin, Bactrim) should improve a patient by 2-3 days. Don't know about Co-Amox. If one is feeling very ill, has high fever, has other medical disorders, or is not better on oral antibiotics, one's doctor or Emergency Room can check to see if hospitalization is needed.
