Healthy lifestyle!: To try to prevent pneumonia you must adhere to a healthy lifestyle & good nutrition. Eat a lot of fresh fruit & veggies along with fish & chicken. Avoid too much sugar & junk food. Drink a lot of fresh water. Get adequate daily rest & sleep & daily aerobic exercise for about 30 minutes. Don't smoke! And wash your hands with soap and water frequently! Best of luck with your health!

Appearance/U don't: A kid with a significant/worrisome illness like pneumonia will have a change in their activities. They begin to breathe faster, play less, refuse or have difficulty with feeds. It is obvious from across a room. Those who develop pneumonia as a complication do so from germs already in their system. Maintaining good supportive care, nutrition & surveillance can recognize this early to permit rx.

Respiratory rate: Watch for rapid breathing and fever. Keep her well hydrated, count her respiratory rate so that you can compare it if she should develop pneumonia. If she has had asthma or wheezing in the past, she may be prone to an exacerbation. The respiratory rate can be completed by counting breaths/ minute.
