Condom: CDC has good site for recommendations. Condom has about 2 percent failure rate with perfect use.

Contraception: If you are anxiety, maybe you also should try to mix some methods for planification, you can use condom, and also if your girlfriend is regular in her period, skip the days where she could be more fertile. Or change for an hormonal method for her, maybe pills, implant, patch; methods with less failure. Or if you have already reach a satisfactory parenting you could try vasectomy or tubal ligation.

Learn and relax. : Hi, your anxiety I think is pretty normal, try to relax and go with your girlfriend with an obgyn so they can teach you about contraception and resolve any doubts you have, a condom is a great way to prevent STD´s and unwanted pregnancies, but no method gives you a 100% certainty, you could mix a hormonal treatment for her with the condom, but a tailor made mix is in order.
