I have a dry cough that makes my chest burn and the base of my throat is sore.

Dry cough: May be infection- mycoplasma z pack may help; or reflux for which ranitidine may work or post nasal drip for which antihistamines/ zyrtec /benadryl may work or a combination . Would elevate head of bed at night to prevent reflux and help with post nasal drip . Discuss trying ranitidine/ zyrtec and also may be asthma equivalent in allergy season and may need inhaler. f/u/ w/ MD
