If someone has lupus and got a tumor could the tumor be a result of having lupus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes and no: Lupus is not related to cancer. Cancer is a condition of malignant, abnormal tissues that grow rapidly and spread into surrounding tissues. Lupus is an autoimmune disease. However, some treatments for lupus may include immunosuppressant drugs that are also used in chemotherapy. But,lupus patients may experience an elevated risk of lymphoma and other cancers, such as cancer of the cervix.
