A member asked:

After six weeks of postpartum, i installed iud (nova t380) the copper one. i have had a bad experience with other contraception that have hormones. after the installation i am bleeding like periods. should i go back to obgyn to check it out?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

IUD placement: With any IUD, including the "nova T380", the device can be pushed into the cervical canal by uterine contractions, and bleeding will result as well as cramping. See the gyn who inserted the device to make certain it is in the right location. It is also less effective for birth control if in the cervical canal.
