A member asked:

What kinds of complications is a person more likely to have if they catch the flu while recovering from a pe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pneumonia: Common complications of the flu are bronchitis and pneumonia, and if one's lungs are already compromised by a pulmonary embolism or pleural effusion, the risk of this happening is even higher. The flu is also likely to increase complications of diabetes, congestive heart failure and asthma.
