A member asked:

How does the pill work? i was advised to start first day of my period in white section. after the normal 5 days, my periods started again. now in the white section again a month later and no period yet. when is it supposed to come?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Starting oral bcp's: If the "white section" means the active pills (of which there are 21 in a pack), starting with your "real" period will be consistent with preventing pregnancy. After the "normal five days" are over, the estrogen in the active pills will add to the apparent length of bleeding which should stop. The "white section" in the next pack when ended will give a lighter "pill period", which is normal.
