A member asked:

What is herpatitis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hmmm....: Herpatitis is not an official medical term. Hepatitis is inflammation of the liver, and can be caused by many different things such as viruses, alcohol, chemicals, drugs, or autoimmune disease. Herpes is a family of viruses than cause infections. Rarely, a person can get hepatitis from herpes (H. simplex) infection. Maybe one can call that herpatitis, but it's not a medical word.
