Period extended ?: Bleeding for four weeks may be a sign of a pregnancy outside of the uterus (ectopic). Obtain a serum HCG test to be certain you are not pregnant. If positive, see your gyn physician immediately for an ultrasound, as this kind of pregnancy needs immediate attention. If the test is negative, you have more time, but fibroid tumors and uterine polyps can also cause bleeding, so see your GYN doctor.
