A member asked:

If i formerly had burkitt's non hodgkins lymphoma, is the chance of getting a glioma increased?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lymphoma and glioma: It depends on what type of treatment you got for your burkitt's lymphoma. If you received cranial irradiation, then yes, your glioma is a complication of your therapy. For some reason, young men are especially susceptible to this problem. Other 'second malignancies' seen after radiotherapy include leukemia, rhabdomyosarcoma, meningiomas, and ependymomas.
