Needs an exam: Occasionally a woman has a hymen that is thicker than normal and will not easily tear during intercourse. When that occurs a simple procedure to incise/cut the barrier can be done by an OBGYN. There are other issues that can cause pain with intercourse but a simple exam can start the process of getting past this issue.
