A member asked:

Can you get a prescription for epi pen for having a basic pollen allergy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Epinepherine is far from a benign medication, carrying risks of arrhythmia, heart ischemia, and even death, and so is reserved for patients with the most severe type of allergies, such as ones in which the airway occludes or the patient goes into anaphylactic shock. The best way to find out is to discuss the matter with your doctor, and see if an EpiPen is the right choice for you. Hope this helps
