A member asked:

Is it normal to have intense pain while ovulating?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mittelschmerz: Mittelschmerz is a German word that we GYN MD's use to describe mid cycle ovulation "pain". It is most often a unilateral twinge rather than a pain. Intense pain is not characteristic of ovulation, and requires a GYN MD visit for ovarian cysts and other maladies.
