Severity: If stomach pain is very bad, eating may actually be dangerous. It is less important to eat than to drink and maintain hydration. Clear liquids - water, tea, broth, half-strength apple juice in small quantities to start - even a tablespoon at a time to begin with. The time honored saltine crackers and rice gruel are baby steps to eating again.
