Bleeding not unusual: Light bleeding and spotting are not unusual on the injection even after having no periods for months. The injection tends to make the lining of the uterus thin which causes some of this bleeding. It may resolve or may continue. If it continues, her doctor can offer options to get the bleeding to stop. If there is an infection, this can also cause bleeding, and her doctor can evaluate for this.
