A member asked:

Is it true that women with low body fat percentage tend to have persistent breakthrough bleeding on iud or other birth controls? is it bad if the daily bleeding on birth control lasts for years? can increasing body fat help stop the bleeding?

Makes sense: Presumably, the increased body fat allows for more conversion to estrogen, which has a proliferative/stabilizing effect on the endometrial lining. ANY irregular menstrual bleeding lasting more than six months requires a complete work up.
