3 days or so: The dog would be gravely sick in 3-4 days or dead. About 2/3 of humans have "furious " rabies marked by excitability & erratic behavior while about 1/3 have "paralytic" rabies marked by gradual paralysis starting near the bite site and progressing to coma. The seriousness and fatality rate remains the same.
