A member asked:

I have been on the yaz contraceptive pill for 5 years, and am hoping to stop using it and have a copper iud implanted. would you advise this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hard to say: Your BC plan is really one that is best decided in collaboration with the doc who knows your history, goals for BC, exam. A copper IUD does have the benefit of being hormone free, lasting a long time & not requiring much maintenance. It is uncomfortable to put in & pricey, but it is also very reliable & a good product. Talk with your doc.
