Short periods: This may be temporary, and the bleeding may not be a "true period". If the quality of your period discomfort is different than "normal" for you, make sure you are not pregnant by getting a serum HCG test, which is very accurate. If negative, see your gyn provider for an exam and testing, to make certain you are ovulating.

Period changes : Irregular periods are one of the most common problems Obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections & hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do a home pregnancy test . There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.
