Why bother: Major studies in the US have shown these products offer little to no benefit to kids under the age of 6 and they have not been recommended for more than a decade. They thicken secretions in younger kids and increase difficulty bringing up the mucus they are trying to cough out. A little lemon juice in honey does wonders.
