Tests are accurate: Home or clinic pregnancy tests are very accurate, but if done too early, a negative result may be due to testing too soon after sex. A correctly done home urine test will give a reliable result by 3 weeks after sex (when conception might have happened). If there has been no sexual activity since an abortion, and pregnancy tests are currently negative, those tests are presumed very accurate.
