had protected sex on the 5th day after my ovulation date, feel sick, took a pregnancy test today and it was negative, but my period is 3 days late???

Delayed menses: Your period may simply be delayed for reasons other than pregnancy. Repeat the pregnancy test, and if negative, "wait for Mother Nature" to initiate the menstrual flow.
