A member asked:

I took the only ibuprofen i could find at the time a tablet 200mg and an hour later found advil liquid gels 200mg. is it safe to take one of the advil?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Same medication: They are the same medication, just different manufacturers, branding, or packaging. Thus, taking 2 Motrin, or 2 Advil, or 2 generic ibuprofen, or taking two of either Motrin or Advil or generic ibuprofen... will all give the same effect because they are the same medication. One just needs to make sure that the pills he has are single-ingredient pills made of ibuprofen.
