A member asked:

I have lower back pains on my left, its a sharp pain what could be the cause? the same pain was on my right about 2 years ago and that was treated

A doctor has provided 1 answer

More info needed: Lower back pain most often is due to musculoskeletal problems like strain, arthritis, disc disorders and,in older people, compression fracture of vertebrae. Kidney stones are less likely. If bending aggravates your discomfort it points to spinal or muscular pain. Heat alternating with cold applications, taking anti-inflammatory medications should help. See your physician if symptoms persist.
