Inhalation: It's possible that inhalation or exposure from some toxic fumes or particles caused some type of pathology to the nasal passages and this caused problems with both taste and smell. Since you're not experiencing trouble breathing, cough or wheezing, damage to the lungs is unlikely. I predict smell and taste will gradually return to normal. See an Otolaryngologist as needed for evaluation.
