Doctor can evaluate: Rashes are hard to describe and diagnose in words. A pediatrician or other primary care doctor, or a dermatologist, can examine to tell what it is. If a hickey appears, that is usually due to suction or impact (contusion). If many of them appear, and there is no history of suction or impact, then blood tests can be done to make sure the blood is clotting normally, not leaking out of blood vessels.
