Pregnancy?: If pregnancy is possible, obtain a serum HCG test to be certain you are not pregnant. Pregnancy outside the uterus can present as you describe (ectopic). If you are not pregnant, on occasion a uterine polyp can cause "spotting", or ovulation can cause light spotting especially if two eggs are ovulating simultaneously, and when this occurs, breasts are heavy secondary to the increased estrogen.
