A member asked:

Does methaphetamine use affect an already overactive thyroid?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Why do you ask?: If you or someone you love has "overactive thyroid", it will eventually kill them unless it's managed. This is not a game. Methamphetamine use is deadly -- the user's I've autopsied actually have torn their flesh away as they were dying. Further, thyroid hormone potentiates catecholamine-like molecules like "meth". This Russian Roulette on two levels with someone's life needs to stop.
