Birth control pills: Pulomonary embolism is a blood clot in the legs that moves up to the blood vessels in the lungs. Young women taking birth control pills and an underlying hypercoaguable status. Clinical presentation can be acute onset of shortness of breath. Early diagnosis can be life saving.
