Missed contraception: In a sexually active woman, when she misses oral contraceptive pills, her menstrual cycle may become irregular with breakthrough bleeding or spotting. Also the contraception effect of preventing pregnancy is decreased so a back up method of birth control is recommended such as condoms. During the end of the pack, if the expected menses is late or different, check a pregnancy test.
