A member asked:

A student at my children's high school was diagnosed with tb. none of my children have been identified as exposed, should i have them tested anyway?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Confer with school: The standards for testing & preventative treatment of students vary with the number of cases, level of contact, incidence of TB in the region & other factors. Often the state or county health agencies give outlines to each school for guidance after the first patient is found. Your local doc & the school should have those guidelines. It is a very slow moving germ so you have some time to find out
