A member asked:

If chronic diarrhea causes anal fissure, why do breastfed babies not have anal fissure even though their poop is usually diarrhea?

Feeds/poops: Their small frequent feedings also consist of a blend of nutrients that are well metabolized. This leaves little volume behind to pass when time comes. Older kids/adults ingest material that leaves behind a greater volume of debris & this will need to pass as such. More debris at greater volume in a speedy exit can easily trigger a fissure.
