A member asked:

Are sunglasses good for eye health or do you need sunlight for your eyes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not a problem: Your eyes receive & interpret the light that enters. Sunglasses screens out damaging excesses. Your eyes are not like a plant, they don't need sunlight to function or remain healthy. It does help your brain set your biorhythms (day/night cycles) Your bodies skin surface can use sunlight to help convert vitamin D to more active form.
