Hepatitis A vaccine: Hepatitis A vaccine is done on all US children between ages 12 and 24 months. Anybody who has not gotten the vaccine can ask for the vaccine. Sometimes, the doctor will do a blood test to see if a person is already immune to Hep A, but a patient can get the vaccine without a blood test. Also, "dirty places" are not the exact concern. Hep A transmission is via people poop. Worry about people poop.
