Typically your: body will try to reset your cycle if your ovaries fail to ovulate. You should still have menstrual flow, and regularly your ovulation occurs between days 11-21 after the first day of your last menstrual period. If you have a short cycle, say 21 days instead of the typical 28, then you can conceivably (no pun intended) ovulate within 5-7 days after the first day of your last menstrual period.
