A member asked:

How to differentiate between a new red mole and an acne?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Acne are tender: Red moles are usually slow to develop and are painless. They are often called Cherry angiomas and are benign. They do not change or go away. Acne on the other hand are due to a plugged sebaceous gland which then gets inflamed. So by nature they are tender on pressure and do not remain unchanged over a matter of a few days(get better or worse) and resolve in 3-4 weeks.
